Magically Delicious

St. Patrick’s Day might still be a week away, but here in Pittsburgh, celebrations are already ramping up, as our annual parade (which is a huge deal here!) is on Saturday. So, if you’re also celebrating this weekend, have we got a treat for you!

This frothy green wonder is grown-up shamrock shake with a boozy twist. Bust out the blender and pick up a tub of ice cream, ‘cause we’re making a decadent dessert drink this week. This can also be tweaked to be non-alcoholic, and we’ll show you how to do that too. Nothing fancy today – just a fun, minty good time! Sláinte!

Boozy Shamrock Shake

1 ½ cups (packed) full-fat vanilla ice cream

4 tablespoons Irish whiskey

3 tablespoons whole milk

¼ teaspoon peppermint extract

Few drops of green food coloring (optional, but delightful)

Garnishes: whipped cream & “lucky” cereal

Add all ingredients (except garnishes) into a blender and blend on high until frothy and there are no lumps in the ice cream. If consistency is a bit too soft, pop it into the freezer for a few minutes. Garnish with whipped cream and some “lucky” cereal. Or, a cherry, or chocolate syrup, or whatever sounds good!

To make non-alcoholic: substitute Irish whiskey for an equal amount of whole milk (for a total of 7 tablespoons of milk).

Sip & enjoy!
